1. 1.4BCFD LNG import: Ogra makes capacity allocation to three companies

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has made capacity allocations to import 1.4 Billion Cubic Feet Per Day (BCFD) of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to three companies ie Global Energy (500MMCFD), Engro Corporation (500MMCFD) and Gasport (400MMCFD), with first delivery expected by the mid of 2012.


2. SSGC planning gas efficiency project with World Bank

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) is planning a Natural Gas Efficiency Project (NGEP) in cooperation with the World Bank to bring phased reduction in unaccounted for gas (UFG) losses over a five-year period.


3. MGCL discovers big oil reservoir in Karak

Mari Gas Company Limited (MGCL) has discovered a big oil reservoir in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa initially with a production capacity of 1,700 barrels per day

4. OGDCL, PPL seek joint ventures with Iranian oil companies

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) are keen to collaborate with Iranian oil companies in oil & gas exploration and production and proposals to this effect will be discussed on Thursday, September 8 by Pak-Iran Joint Economic Commission


5. China to invest in coal sector of Pakistan

Sino Resources Group Limited China showed interest in coal processing of removing moisture to turn it into high version coal, which is highly efficient in upgrading the commercial value of lignite


6. 6. Pakistan, Iran gas pipeline ‘almost at border’

A multi-billion-dollar gas pipeline between the two countries is pressing ahead on schedule despite US objections to the project. The two signed an export deal last year for Iran to supply natural gas to its eastern neighbour from 2014, with sales to reach 750 million cubic feet (21 million cubic metres) to one billion cubic feet per day by mid-2015.

8. OGDCL with have discovered a new hydrocarbon reservoir at well Nashpa 02, located in District Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The first targeted zone “Datta Sandstone” has been tested and produced 3370 barrels per day of crude oil and 11 MMCFD gas through 32/64” choke at well head flowing pressure 3800 Psi.
